The clinic currently meets on Tuesdays (solid tumors), Wednesdays (central nervous system tumors) and Thursdays (leukemia/lymphoma). The clinic limits services to patients treated at St. Jude. Patients treated at other centers who move to the Memphis area are also eligible for services . St. Jude patients are eligible for transfer into the ACT Clinic when they are 5 years from diagnosis and in remission for at least 2 years after completion of therapy. Patients are seen annually by the ACT Clinic staff until they are 10 years from diagnosis and at least 18 years of age. Most adult survivors at the 10 year time point are discharged as alumnus of the clinic and monitored annually through a mail questionnaire distributed by the St. Jude Cancer Registry. Some St. Jude alumni may be invited back for clinic evaluations related to specific research investigations. The ACT Clinic staff also provides a variety of services to St. Jude alumni, including counseling about cancer-related health risks, communication with local providers and insurance companies regarding cancer history, organization of treatment summaries and personal health records, and assistance with securing community resources.
Clinic director is Dr. Melissa Hudson.
A solid tumor oncologist (Dr. Sheri Spunt), neuro-oncologist (Dr. Brannon Morris), and leukemia/lymphoma oncologist (Dr. Melissa Hudson) work with Dr. Cash (medical oncologist/internist), 6 nurse practitioners, and 2 social workers to provide services to the St. Jude ACT and Alumni survivors.
